About Hugh Fleet

300_fleet_familyAll my life I have loved this country and I have worked tirelessly to honor it.  American History has always been my favorite subject and particularly our beginnings. Our forefathers who built this republic and the second wave of giants Abe Lincoln, Daniel Webster and Henry Clay who preserved the republic I hold in high esteem.

After enlisting in the military in 1965 at the age of 17 I gained first hand knowledge of the division in our country over the Vietnam War. That's when my previous perceptions of the oneness of our country [after World War II] had been shattered. As time went on my priorities have shifted from Federal to State Government.

I have always been inspired by my Dad, mainly for his character and all of his accomplishments. For someone who grew up in a broken home and started with nothing yet he is so humble. He proudly serve his country I Vietnam and as continued serving his country by doing Historical American Flag presentations, dating back o the Revolutionary War, for schools, dinners and political functions. My Dad taught me that knowledge is power and that studying history makes us more patriotic in understanding the sacrifices of those before us. While growing up with my parent we learned the importance of character and having strong family values, honesty, diligence, accountability, good work ethics and concern for those less fortunate than ourselves is vital. As far back as I can remember he has been busy calling and writing to Congressman and Senators on numerous issues demanding accountability. I know that my Dad would make an excellent Representative of the People.

My father is a man of great integrity. He taught us respect for ourselves with his example of strong, morale beliefs. He didn't just teach them, he lived them with his heart behind the words. My father has great passion in anything he does.

It is important for me to express my gratitude for the blessings of being raised by a man with amazing character and ideals, that seem to be fictional at this time in the world. He, with the aid of my mother's wisdom, has turned his challenges and misfortunes into assets. His drive for equity and freedom for all, as long as I have been alive, has been backed by fervent action that persists until he finds resolution. My father's awesome example has persisted throughout my childhood and currently proves to serve his grandchildren. At times it seemed as if he was fighting battles without an ally. His strength and persistence that I witnessed during these difficult times are characteristics that aspire to obtain. They will make everlasting marks on, not only me and my family, but our country as well.

I know you should vote for my dad because he is one of the few people who are willing to fight to preserve the values that matter most to us!

Ever since I can remember my dad has had a large passion to serve his country and the American people, a passion that bleeds into every part of his life. He is very educated in U.S. history and up to date on all that is going on in our country.

When he becomes state representative you will be confident that your best interest will be at hand, that your concerns will be valued and action will be used to move your district in the right direction.

Vote Hugh Fleet State Representative 38th district!
